Where are you located?

We are located approximately one hour (42 km) from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). This makes us an ideal first stop for guests or a peaceful retreat en route to the Cultural Triangle or a last stop before leaving Sri Lanka
How many types of rooms do you have?

Horathapola offers two Family Suites and three large rooms.
How many guests can stay in the property?

Horathapola offers a total of five rooms, accommodating up to 16 guests in a combination of King, Queen, Double, and single beds.
What is your food like?

We offer an a la carte menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Afternoon tea and snacks are also available. Meals use fresh, locally sourced ingredients – many from the estate itself. You can experience the cooking by joining the chef when he is preparing dinner.
Can I book the whole property?

Yes, we offer exclusive buy-out options for the entire villa, providing you with full privacy for your group or family. Contact us for more details
Is the property suitable for families?

Absolutely. With spacious Family Suites and a Family Lodge, a large garden, and a range of on-site activities, Horathapola is perfect for families and multi-generational families.
Is the property suitable for couples?

Yes, Horathapola is ideal for romantic getaways. The serene grounds, secluded rooms, large swimming pool, and jungle jacuzzi offer a peaceful and intimate setting for couples.
Is the property suitable for children?

Absolutely. With spacious Family Suites and a Family Lodge, a large garden, and a range of on-site activities, Horathapola is perfect for children and multi-generational families.

Do you provide drivers accommodation?

Yes, we do provide accommodation for drivers.
How can I hire a taxi or tuk-tuk during my stay?
Taxis and tuk-tuks are commonly available in major towns and at the airport. You can hire roadside tuk-tuks or private vans easily in areas like Colombo, Kandy, and Galle.

  - PickMe (local alternative)
    Both accept cash or credit card, though many drivers prefer cash and may decline a booking if you don’t specify that you’re paying with cash.
- Note:Outside of Colombo, Kandy, and Galle, taxis and ride-hailing services may not always be readily available. We recommend planning ahead or checking with your host for assistance.
What activities are available?

We offer complimentary activities like a guided coconut estate tour, a traditional cooking experience, and a village walk or cycling when booking a two night stay.
What are check-in/out times?

Check-in is at 1 pm and check-out is at 11 am.
What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be in writing. If canceled within 4 weeks prior to the stay, a 100% cancellation charge will apply. There are no refunds for no-shows.
